The Birthday Party
Well!! I managed to pull off my biggest party to date with 30 screaming, excited kiddies, approx. 15 bewildered but well-fed parents, and 1 busted up sweet-laden pinata — and I’ve lived to tell the tale! Emilie’s 5th birthday party was a smashing success — 1 year in the making and 3 months of intense … Continue reading »
Pom-pom fringe cupcake stand
Hot glue is my new best friend! I bought this plain, white cardboard 3-tier cupcake stand from my local craft store and dressed it up in the cutest pom-pom fringe to match Emilie’s party theme colours. I could have done a tutorial, but as you can see from the photos it really is simple. Just … Continue reading »
Look for me in April…
…because March is just a manic month! My life has been all but completely consumed with Emilie’s upcoming 5th birthday party. I eat, sleep, and breathe party decorations, table layouts, and menu plans. Colour schemes, centrepieces, and cupcake stands dominate my daily life. Christmas backdrop tutorial
Here is the promised tutorial – forgive me, but I am incredibly tired tonight so it will be a bit of a slapdash tutorial, particularly since it is so simple to do. Simple and inexpensive. Not the most luxurious, but an easy way to glitz up a dinner party on a budget! First your materials: … Continue reading »
Christmas colours
Finally decided on my Christmas color scheme – ice blue, aqua, royal blue, and silver. I made a festive variation of the ribbon backdrop I did for Zoie’s birthday. Tutorial to follow tomorrow!
Beautiful baubles
My fellow crafty mommy friend and I have been working on some beautiful handmade Christmas baubles. Pretty fabrics, shiny ribbons, tiny stars, and lots of juice and cookies (for the kiddies of course, lol). Check them out!
Thanksgiving Centrepiece
Here is a simple Thanksgiving centrepiece I made from found objects in my garden. It took me about 5 minutes to put together. A chunk of tree, a handful of autumn leaves, a branch of berries, rosehips, twigs and some apples & pears pinched from the kitchen fruit bowl. Voila! Dinner party perfect!
